The cache is hidden a short walk from Willow Springs. Take the obvious track...

Willow Springs is the site of an old timber mill. There's not much left of it, but there is a campsite and picnic spot, and nearby is a "Eucalypt Walk" with a wide variety of specimen trees identified with name posts. We started from a little picnic site at S34° 02.791 E115° 55.667, which is a short distance from the main campsite. There's also some old-growth forest here, with some impressive karri trees (which don't help the GPS) and the usual forest wildlife (nissan reports having seen a seven-foot dugite in the area, so please take care).

While dogs aren't specifically forbidden in this area as far as I can tell, the area is subject to 1080 poison baiting, and if your dog eats a bait then its chances are not good.

The cache itself is a small ammo can which has been painted yellow. Its original contents: 4 small plastic boxes, a bouncy ball, a pair of pliers, 2 g-clamps, 3 screwdrivers, a keyring, a small padlock, a roller-stamp, and a log book, pen, pencil, rubber and sharpener.

PhotosBibbulmum Track section closure
There's a wash-out in the section of the Bibbulmun Track that goes past the cache's hiding place. The washout is beyond the cache when you approach it from Willow Springs, so the cache is still accessible.

PhotosClose to the cache, 2010 update
This is a view from the path looking towards the cache's hiding place, taken in January 2010. There are now more fallen branches and trees than there were back when the cache was hidden.
