Go ahead and dust off your slide rule, change the
batteries in your TI-81 and get to some drawing and
figuring!
1.
Posted coords are for the
city of Acworth sign. This point will represent one point of the
triangle. Let's call this A.
2.
The second Acworth sign is exactly 1451 meters from
the first sign. (See the picture. You'll have to find it yourself.)
Let's call this B.
3.
Directly across from point A is a line from point B
to point C. Let's call this line the hypotenuse, line
BC.
4.
The two lines from both signs converge at the point
C. This point equals sine 31.065°.
5.
The bearing from A to C is 49.762°.
6.
The cache should be here, but it's not. The terrain
was just too easy. Move 949' from point C at 288.089°.
Soh get busy and find the cache! If you're lucky, then
you may just be the King (or Queen) of geometry! Good Luck!
