Geocache Description:

The 357 Magnum was once the most powerful-list handgun in the world in the 1930's and soon to be out done with the 44 Magnum in the 50's. Today it is the S&W Model 500.

The .357 S&W Magnum (9x33mmR), or simply .357 Magnum, is a revolver cartridge created by Elmer Keith, Phillip B. Sharpe, Colonel D. B. Wesson of firearms manufacturer Smith & Wesson, and Winchester. It is based upon Smith & Wesson's earlier .38 Special cartridge. The .357 Magnum cartridge was introduced in 1934, and its use has since become widespread.

This cartridge started the "Magnum" era of handgun ammunition. The .357 Magnum cartridge has a positive reputation for power and accuracy for target shooters and used in so many disciplines with in the sport of pistol shooting.

The cache is located near the SSAA Wodonga Handgun club which is part of one of the largest target shooting complex in North East Victoria and Southern NSW. Catering for Field and Game Clay Target shooters, and SSAA Rifle shooting. Hosting National and International Events.

Cache is just off the main road to the complex - No need to climb over fences.

SSAA Albury Wodonga Handgun Club is open every Saturday at 1pm.
