Geocache Description:

A sixty-five foot tall black dead remnant of a once living giant in Nisene Marks State Park.

This is more than just a stump. Actually, it isn't really a stump. This tree has been like this for a while, because the loggers did not cut it or even try. It's amazing that dead redwood wood like this can still stand for a century even with huge storms and earthquakes. Speaking of which, the cache is near a chunck of the tree that probably fell during the Loma Prieta Earthquake. Either way, this tree is ready to go. If at all you suspect it's going to snap when you are their, run and hide behind another tree.
