Geocache Description:

Posted coordinates bring you to the first stone, The Father's Stone. There are 6 carved stones from the colonial period in Newbury, MA that can all be seen from the road. By obtaining information from each you will be able to see all 6 and find a cache at the end. Four additional stones are in the Smithsonian Museum of American History in Washington, DC.

"B33" meant Boston was 33 miles away and "N5" meant it was 5 miles to the center of Newbury.

2) WHAT DATE APPEARS ON THIS STONE? 170____ =B

Milestone 34 is a reproduction, the original was carved in 1709-1710. At this stone you were 34 miles from Boston.

3) ADD 1 TO THE NUMBER IN THE TOP LEFT CORNER. _____=C

At this stone you were 35 miles from Boston.

4) HOW MANY PIECES MAKE UP ONE CIRCLE SYMBOL ON THIS STONE?

5) THE NUMBER ON THE RIGHT IS AN OLD-STYLE CARVING, IT IS NOT A
ZERO BUT A _____=E (hint, this is mile marker 36)

Only the top part of this stone is still visible, however, there is a lot of information on it. Mileage to Portsmouth, NH and Ipswich, MA are carved on either side.

THE CACHE IS NOT VERY FAR. ADD "122" TO THE NORTH COORDS AND DEDUCT "63" FROM THE WEST COORDS FOR MILE MARKER #37.
