THIS ISN'T A LETTERBOX CACHE IT'S A STANDARD CACHE..Gils hill is casually named for an Englishman name Gil Brand (see photo) who was first from the gang at Coonhollow Campground to climb the hill.
The cache is a 30 cal ammo can painted blue and clearly in sight if you look for it (not in the rockpile where there is also a log book to read and sign if you wish).
Inside the can is a notebook and pencil, a stereo headset, Tomb Raider game on a CD, an empty 50 cal cartrige case and trinkets. I have modified this cache adding three more waypoints to help you avoid some real rough terrain.
