Do Paul partem muitas ribeiras. A ribeira da Janela é a mais extensa e corre para norte, serpenteando entre as rochas duras. O rebordo sul é mais suave, e os cursos de água correm quase paralelos, separando os lombos, que dão uma fisionomia especial ao concelho da Calheta. É obrigatória a paragem junto à lagoa que alimenta a Central Hidroeléctrica da Calheta. Para além das soberbas vistas sobre o vale da ribeira da Janela, com a Casa do Rabaçal em primeiro plano, é extremamente agradável passear na levada que abastece a albufeira. Da estrada à nascente do canal, na ribeira do Lajeado, são cerca de 3,5 km. Uma hora para dentro. Outra para o regresso.
