Geocache Description:

To get to this cache park in the Sugarbush Farm parking lot and cross the red bridge that leads to the Maple Walk.

This cache is winter friendly, but you may want to bring the snowshoes when the snow gets deep.

Maple sap looks like water when it comes out of the tree. It is collected in late winter using buckets or plastic tubing. Since sap is only about 3% sugar it must be boiled to make syrup. It takes 40 to 50 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of syrup.
After finding the cache on the Maple Walk you may also visit the sugar house where syrup is made. It is open all year, free, and self guided. Inside the farmhouse you can sample the 4 grades of syrup and also the cheese that is packaged on the premises.

Congratulations to Welchawa for FTF!!!
