Geocache Description:

Near the petroglyphs off hwy 30,Maui.

The Busted Bunny has left us forever. We are very sorry to see him go. We are not placing a new cache. If you do not mind not finding a cache but visiting a really cool spot with a great view (which might not be there for much longer due to the development in the area, that is why we do not put a new cache there) czech it out! Thank you all who came to visit Busted Bunny over the years! Czechcachers This is an archelogist's cache. Be sure to check out the petroglyphs on the way to the cache. The County allowed the old decks and railings to go to ruin here due to vandals defacing the site back in the 60's. You can still see some glyphs but many are modern copies. Nearby there are ruins of old Hawaiian houses, with a few timbers left, and the foundations are intact. Look at the smooth black stones they used for a floor. This was so their feet wouldn't get cut on the lava rocks. Look at the benchmark at N20 49.141 W156 37.067 and go 50 ft north to find the ruins. The cache is NOT here.

The cache is toward the ocean, and hidden under some loose lava rocks 131 ft from the benchmark. Inside you find the Busted Bunny. He was once pals with the energizer bunny and would keep going, and going.... until one day his spring broke, and now you have to turn his key backward to get him to go.
