Telttimäen huipulla sijaitsee Struven ketjun maanmittauspiste vuodelta 1835. Paikalla on kaksi rautapulttia ja kaatuneen kolmiomittaustornin jäännökset. Kohde on kiinteä muinaisjäännös, joka on muinaismuistolain nojalla rauhoitettu (rauhoitusluokka 2).
Struven ketju on Mustaltamereltä Jäämerelle ulottuva kolmiomittausketju. Kolmiomittauksen alkuperäisenä tarkoituksena oli maapallon koon ja muodon selvittäminen. Mittaukset suoritettiin tähtitieteilijä Struven johdolla vuosina 1816–1855.
Struven ketju liitettiin Unescon maailmanperintöluetteloon vuonna 2005. Unescon kohdeluettelossa on yhteensä 34 parhaiten säilynyttä ja kulttuurihistoriallisesti arvokkainta pistettä. Näistä suojelluista pisteistä 6 sijaitsee Suomessa. Struven ketjun mittauspisteiden kokonaismäärä on 265.

Kätkölle on kävelymatkaa pysäköinnistä ja reitinvalinnastasi riippuen n. 1-1.5 km ja reitti on loivaa nousua. Reitin varrella ei ole ryteikköä tai muuten erityisen hankalia maaston kohtia.
Kätkö ei ole tornin rakenteissa. Älä kajoa muinaismuistoon. Tornin rakenteiden jäännöksissä on myös teräviä ruosteisia nauloja, joita on syytä varoa. Kätköä logatessasi voit ihailla Keiteleen Pyyrinlahdelle avautuvaa näkymää.

One of the main station points of the Struve Geodetic Arc is located on the top of Telttimäki. This site dates back to 1835. There are still two iron bolts and the wooden remains of the fallen tower. The site is a relic and therefore protected by law.
The Struve Geodetic Arc is a chain of triangulation survey stretching from the Black Sea to the Arctic Ocean. Arc measurement has been defined as a method for determining the size and shape of the Earth. This survey was carried out between 1816 and 1855 under the guidance of F.G.W. Struve. The Struve Arc is one of the foremost scientific and technical achievements of its time, and it has a truly universal significance.
In 2005 the Struve Geodetic Arc was added to the World Heritage List. The selection of points involves a total of 34 sites. In each country, only the most prominent sites have been selected. Six of the selected points are located in Finland. The Struve Arc comprises a total of 265 main station points.

You’ll have to walk about 1 to 1.5 km depending on the parking site and the route you will choose.
There are no thickets or other special difficulties.
The cache is not in the remains of the tower. Please do not violate the relic. There are also some sharp and rusty nails to beware of. When logging the cache you can watch the scenery over Pyyrinlahti-bay of Lake Keitele.
