So far there have been twenty-seven sasquatch sightings in Wisconsin according to one source. Another lists fifty-six. So there you have it. We invite you to join the search for the twenty-eighth, or fifty-seventh, in this extensive wooded section of the Rat River Wildlife Area. It appears these particular haunts are rarely visited except by a few hunters on the edges, so who knows what lurks here.
A night search strategy seems timely in view of increasing reports of nocturnal bigfoot activity. Please note any unusual phenomenon in the log book and report suspected sightings via the Related Web Page. There is an unconfirmed report that one or more sasquatch-looking humans were sighted on a four wheeler near this particular cache, but such vehicles are prohibited here, so significant doubt remains.
To find the cache, go to the given coordinates and follow a trail of single white fire tacks. Some may appear double due to the angle, and there are two positioned just a few feet apart in one spot. Along the tack trail there is a sharp left turn at two tacks where you will also see two orange tacks marking a different trail going in the same direction you have been moving. Do not go that way; look for a white tack at about ninety degrees to the left of your line of travel. Standing in front of tacks is the best position to be in to spot the next one if there are any obstructions. You will eventually arrive at two trees each with two white and one orange tack. From a point equal distance between them, use your GPS to find the cache one hundred and seventy-nine feet away at a bearing of 360 degrees. Disregard the decoy trail of orange tacks headed south, but, if there is snow and you are leaving a snow geo-trail, walk south a bit to create decoy tracks before you go to the final. From the final there are single white tacks that will lead back to the original starting point and then to a trail back to the parking lot.
Terrain and difficulty are set based on anticipated averages with warmer weather conditions and that it is a night cache with some navigation required at the final. It will be wetter in there during the spring months. Cache name inspired by the log book weeks before the new tv show surfaced. All sasquatch sightings near this cache need to be fully documented.
