Geocache Description:

Parking is near the end of Emerson Hill Road near the top of Emerson Hill in New Ipswich. It can also be accessed with a longer hike from Mt. Watatic, but the Emerson Hill Rd. route is a much shorter and easier hike.

**Update May 30, 2020** - I have confirmed that it appears someone has taken the original ammo box. Unfortunately that means there is nothing to find presently. I will try to get up there soon and replace it, but if you are still seeing this message, that means I have not yet done so. It is a shame because this was a great cache for many years. I don't know why someone would steal it.** The cache is accessed via a short hike along Emerson Hill Road southerly to Old County Road/ Wapack Trail. The cache is in an ammo box. By the way, much to my annoyance, many GPS maps will show a road that comes up from the state line off of Page Hill Road in New Ipswich called "Children of the Woods Tavern Road." I have no idea where they came up with this name, but it is wrong. There is actually an old Class 6 road there known as Old County Road, which was once known as "The Great Road from Rindge to Ashby", but it has not been used as a public highway in at least 150 years. It is not really passable and I would not recommend this route.
