How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

In August 2012 the UK Mega Event is coming to Cartmel in Cumbria. This is one of a diverse series of supporting event being held around the Mega Event. It is hosted by Irene and Clare (the linedancers) supported by other members of the North West Mega Event Team.

So, you have travelled all the way to get to the magnificent North West, and have had a long journey on the Motorway. All you need now is a cup of tea and a stretch of those legs. Well, here it is, and all are very welcome.

The events venue, the Hideaway Coffee House is just what you want, a cuppa and cake, or a bit of light lunch, and then off to the camp site, to set up your tent/caravan, or onwards to your own holiday accommodation.

Unfortunately dogs are not allowed inside the coffee house, but they are welcome outside. There is also a lovely walk along the canal side towpath where our four-legged friends can stretch their legs.

If you are already in the area you can just pop in. There are a few nearby caches to do (see below) and you could make it a stop off for lunch or a brew before carrying on.

View to Farleton Knot

The panoramic views of Farleton Knot to the south, whether you sit inside or out, are stunning.

There is ample parking for cars and caravans, and no need to turn around as you can just pull off without any problems.
