CEDRO GORDO
Em
São Roque do Faial, Cedro Gordo é parte do nome de quatro sítios
desta freguesia. Assim, temos a Achada, a Fajã, o Chão e o Pico do
Cedro Gordo.
Esta
freguesia tem uma actividade diversificada. Uma parte vive da
agricultura, mas há já algum tempo que surgiu uma aposta no
comércio, na pequena indústria, na hotelaria e restauração.
Caracteriza-se por ter temperaturas amenas, durante todo o
ano, no Inverno o termómetro não desce abaixo dos 14 graus, e,
no Verão, ronda os 28 graus.
In São Roque do Faial, Cedro Gordo is part of the

This parish has a diversified business. One part

entre muitas estradas cá existentes, há uma estrada florestal que
liga o Lombo Grande à Achada do Cedro Gordo, onde se pode observar
várias espécies indígenas e endémicas da floresta madeirense.
É
nesta estrada florestal que está inserida esta cache. Caso tenha um
veículo todo o terreno ou uma mota, esta poderá ser uma drive-in.
Caso contrário, faça o percurso a pé e deixe-se envolver pela
natureza e pelos aromas.
Among many existing roads here, there is a forest
road that connects the Lombo Grande to Achada do Cedro Gordo, where
you can observe several species of endemic and indigenous forest of
Madeira.
It is in this forest road that is inserted into
this cache. If you have an all-terrain vehicle or a motorcycle, it
can be a drive-in. Otherwise, do the journey on foot and soak up
the nature and aromas.

Caso faça de carro ou mota suba na estrada de terra que antecede o
local de estacionamento.
No
meio do percurso existem dois cruzamentos. Deverá seguir sempre
pela estrada à direita, como as setas indicam. O percurso tem uma
distância de 2,5 km e se for a pé poderá chegar à cache em cerca de
1 hora.

In the middle of the route there are two
intersections. You should always follow the road to the right as
the arrows indicate. The route has a distance of 2.5 km and is the
walking time to the cache in about 1 hour.
