This is the second in my Tall Tales series that came about after a
Scout meeting where we talked about tall tales and wrote some of
our own with the kids. So I encourage you to use your imagination
in your logs to tell the Tall Tale of your hunt for this
cache.
A small amount of stealth will be required but proper parking
should cover your hunt. Bring something to write with as there is
none in the cache.
So there he was pulling into the Dojang to pick up the kids from
their latest secret mission to some unnamed corner of the world
when his phone, pager, and smoke signals all go off fighting for
his attention to let him know a new cache had been published in the
area. He quickly pulls up the details of it and thinks to himself
‘Can I make it before WebgURL again or will
jeffnerner’s phone go off this time?”
A quick trip inside and the kids were running on the wind to make
it to the car. Smokiewolf hits the gas and they leave a line of
rubber on the road as he zips out onto Route 7. He is flying down
the road but notices the traffic backing up ahead. “Hang on
kids it is time for the turbo boost” he cries as he flips the
switch on the dash and the trunk pops open to reveal huge rocket
boosters he had installed just for situations like this. He guns
the engine and the rockets kick in as wings fold out of the side
doors. He takes to the air at breakneck speeds. Bypassing the
traffic jam he manages to land in the lot near the cache location.
Looking around he couldn’t see any caching vehicles in the
area and has a good feeling about this one. Pulling closer he tries
to get a hold on were the cache is hidden when he notices that area
starting to move and a huge ruckus happening there. He hops out of
the car ready to find out what is going on when the cache leaps out
of hiding right at him.
Oh No! Is our hero done for?
Not today. At the last moment before the cache could pounce on him
the kids come out of no where to defend Dad. They take up the Tiger
Stance and proceed to defend their father from this fearsome cache.
A quick kick here and a fast punch there from the kids results in
the cache backing down then Smokiewolf comes in for the final blow
with his pen held high ready to strike the fateful First to Find
blow but does he find a clean log sheet? Has someone already found
it and clamed the find? Is that why the cache was so hopped up and
ready for a tussle? Tune in tomorrow to find out how it all played
out!
