Geocache Description:

This multi-cache takes you on a tour of some special places in Bolton, MA. Bolton is where the woman I love grew up. I made this cache to highlight memories from her childhood that remind her of home, because this place made her who she is: my partner, my best friend, and the person with whom I want to share every adventure.

Do this cache with someone you love. The posted coordinates do not lead you to the cache container. It is at the third stop you will get to (small, plastic, with room for items and trackables). The first to find got a unique prize!

*******
Your first stop is a building that has recently undergone major renovation and expansion. If it is open, go in and have a look. The old section used to be all there was of it. Imagine trying to fit everything in there!

When she was little, her mom used to take her in her wagon down Main Street to get the mail, and then take her across the street to this place to learn and play. It sparked a life long curiosity and love of learning.

Look up at the outside of the building above the old doors to the original structure. Note the Roman numerals. What number do they represent?
Subtract that number from the longitudinal coordinate and then add back MDXCV to get the longitude of the next stop. The latitude is N 42° 25.742

*******
Your second stop is a bit of a historical site. These fields you are standing between used to be the site of the Bolton Fair. Started in 1874, the Bolton Fair is an annual exhibition of agricultural and animal exhibits, as well as crafts, rides, games, and more. It’s now at the Lancaster Fairgrounds, but when she was young, all of the action happened right here.

She used to help her mother with the exhibits and shows, working the fair and enjoying the celebration of the town and all it had to offer. I bet she was cute in her fair dress!

Did you note the old school with the pillars out front as you first drove in? If not, go back and take a look. This is the school she first attended. What is the name of it? Add the letters in the name and use the sum to fill in the blanks on the coordinates for the next stop: N 42° 2_.866. The longitude is W 071° 36.561. Look for the cache, and enjoy! (You can park at N 42° 2_.776 W 071° 36.256 and it's about a 10 minute easy walk on a trail, though the cache is slightly off the trail).
