Geocache Description:

We invite you to visit one of Central Wisconsin's finest natural areas and the site of another of the Project Salamander study ponds. This pond was one of the longest studied ponds of the project and home to four different species of salamanders. The large tiger, yellow spotted, blue-spotted salamanders, as well as the small central newt all made their home on the land surrounding the nearby pond. Every spring during the 1990's their breeding migration was monitored by catch and release trapping.

To start your visit, park at N44 34.453 W089 15.844. Enjoy your visit and if you are there during the spring months, say hi and watch for all the frogs and salamanders!

When you finally find the cache please take great care in retrieving. Also, put the cache back exactly as you found it, with all the camouflage in place. We don't want to run the chance that the cache will be found by other visitors to the nature area and taken. Thank you and happy geocaching.
