The cache is located in The Pisgah National Forest off the Andy
Cove Nature Trail (USFS #288). This is an easy .7 mile loop with
interpretive stations, boardwalks, a swinging bridge, Andy Cove
Branch, a short hike through the forest and more. The elevation
change is less than 200 feet.
The trailhead begins in the parking lot of the National Forest
Visitor Information Center and Ranger Station off of Hwy 276. The
parking coordinates are N35 17.110 W82 43.603.
Follow the nature trail to a path just before crossing Andy Cove
Branch, your GPS should point the way. Follow this trail about 145
feet and you should be close to a tree that has fallen across the
path. The cache is a 6X9" plastic container with a snap lid located
about 30 feet up off the trail and is covered with leaves and
bark.
