Tiny Maynard is worth a visit. Our cache is located in a small conservation area just outside the town center. If you are looking for an extended hike, look elsewhere. If you seek a fun, quick-but-not-too-easy family-friendly cache search or want to combine your search with a stroll to a movie theater, restaurant or cafe, this is a great choice.
To find this cache, park in front of Carbone Park/Carbone Conservation Land on the corner of Summer St. and Florida Road. Or you can park in downtown Maynard and find your way to Summer Street heading west. The conservation area is across from the big brick building with the "ArtSpace" sign. Near the road, this conservation area is a simple open space with benches. There are two possible routes to the cache--both very short but you will have to go off trail, uphill, and pick your way through brush. Shortest route: Find where two little footbridges bring you into the wooded area. Climb straight up the hill along the chain link fence. When you have almost reached the top of the hill, Look for the cache nook (see hint below). The cache is a medium to-go container in a ziplock bag. Alternate route if the fence route is too steep for you: After the footbridge, bear right to walk along the "stream". This path (not well used or maintained) winds west into the center of the wooded area. When you come to a pyramid-shaped rock, head up the hill and pick your way through the bushes towards the cache (see above hint.)
