Geocache Description:

Cached in Kickapoo State Park. Approximatly 200 feet West of the "Out-Back Hiking Trail".

Updated June 27, 2020: Thanks to Go-Purdue's log, I became aware that this cache had been melted due to a controlled burn in the park. I went out this morning and replaced the container. I put the remnants of the cache in the bottom as a tribute to the previous stash of swag. I also added some new items that might prove to be useful. I also placed the new log that Go-Purdue donated in the plastic bag. Please use that one first. The cache was placed in the "Y" of a fallen tree with limbs on it to disguise it. If you find the melted remains of the old container, you are not far away. I am attaching some pics of the cache and trail markers to look for if you decide to follow the trail next to the cemetery verses a straight forward bushwhack. Good luck!

July 10, 2019 - I upgraded the terrain difficulty on this cache since most tend to take a straight bush whacking approach to the cache. You will definatly get your work out that way. Also, the trail that this cache is off of was cut off of the main park trail years ago and has not been maintained. Be ready to bushwhack either way on this one.

Old description - "This Cache is in a 50-cal ammo box. It is half buried behind a large log with about 4" showing. There may be leaves blown over the top. It contains several small items along with a log-book, pencil, and spare zip-loc bags. Best place to park and enter the trail is at Johnson Hill Cemetery. If you are the sort that love to bushwhack, then head straight towards the cache from the cemetery. However if you would like a more leisurely journey, then head east down the little dirt path the heads past the cemetery. Stay on that path and it will eventually put you on the out-back trail. Good luck." I am leaving the old description in quotes for nostalgia. The current container is a smaller plastic ammo box that appears to be holding up very well.
