Strombus: The cache was too maintenance intensive partly due to its special hide, partly because of annual intentional damage. Also, the sight lost its interest as the unique lightning struck tree next to the hide is gone and the little view got overgrown.
When a cache is no longer a pleasure for its owner or its finder, its time to let it go. Thank you all who visited it.

Geocache Description:

A tricky hide on a small hill, near a charming little village. Requires 1300 m walking (one way), and probably some time to find.

About the Village
Husztót is a hidden gem among the slopes of the Mecsek, 20 kms from Pécs, 4 kms from Abaliget. It has no more than 38 houses, situated on an Eastern hillside, providing a peaceful home and unusually clean air (due to the prevailing Mecsek winds) to its inhabitants.
The charming, tiny, white church marks the center of the village. It was built in 1868 and is named after St. Teresia.

Husztót was first mentioned in written sources in 1542, as ecclesiastical property. During the Turkish times it was probably inhabited, got depopulated only during the liberation wars.
Its revival started only in 1729, when the first people moved here from neighboring Hungarian villages.
It had its largest population in the first part of the 20th century. 297 people lived here in 1930. By 1990 the number of inhabitants was less then 100. By 2010 only 44 people called Husztót their home.

The village is surrounded by forests and pastures providing opportunity for forestry, animal husbandry, and bee-keeping.

About the hide
The cache is hidden in the forest above the village. Finding it will require a 2.6 km walk (1.6 miles), and a little effort when there, but what you need most is your geosense and logic.

If the game for you is more about the sights and searching for the cache is more stress than the positive excitement, than this cache is not for you. If you like the challenge, then you will like the hide as well as the sight.
After you found the cache, please take time to replace it carefully, to make it a fun find for the next person as well. Please don't refer to the hide in your log and don't post spoilers.

You cannot place swag in the cache, only near it. You will see were. You can also find a pen there, but the logbook is in the cache. Please, don't forget to sign the logbook! Internet logs without a signature in the actual logbook will be deleted.
