This is one of 36 Girl Scout geocaches that will be placed in Nassau County representing the 36 Girl Scout Councils in the county.
The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award a girl can earn in Girl Scouting. For my own Gold Award, I thought it would be a great idea to use geocaching to showcase other girl's Gold Awards.
In 2009, Amelia Malito from Garden City earned her Gold Award by helping make the public more aware of the Garden City High School Bird Sanctuary by making a guide book with pictures, maps, and list of the different species in it.
Please note that over the years, the requirements to earn this award have changed.
