Geocache Description:

While this may look like a relatively easy park and go, I think you may decide otherwise when you get there. The short way is filled with obstacles - limited parking, steep terrain, mud, fence, etc. The longer way is the longer way, and you may still have mud, steep terrain, etc. But it provides lots of other caching opportunities.

The cache title comes from a line in on my my favorite Edna St. Vincent Millay poem: My candle burns at both ends It will not last the night; But ah, my foes and oh, my friends - It gives a lovely light. Vincent, as she was known to friends and family, was born and raised in Camden, Maine. She often hiked the Camden Hills and her first poem to achieve national fame started with the view from Mt. Battie. I think she would have loved geocaching. The cache is a small peanut butter jar filled with candles to celebrate your find. It may require some bushwhacking at the end, unless you can find the very faint trail that leads to it. If you come the short way, hang on to your kids and dogs until you know that it's safe. Congratulations to Cedar Point 2 for FTF.
