How to get there:
By car: You can drive your car right near the cache and it is easy to park there.
By airpalne: own navigation, the airport's ICAO code is LHTL
The airport was built in 1928 by the Weiss Manfréd Művek company. The airport had three main owners since it was built.
1. The first owner between 1928-1945 was the hungarian ,,Dunai Repülőgépgyár,, which was producing airplanes and stuff for the air force. Later than they were repairing the MiG fighter planes and helicopters.
2. The second owner of the airfield was the Russian (Soviet) Red Army between 1945-1991. Groups of the Russian army used one side of the airport and groups of the hungarian army used the other side. After the fall of the Soviet Union in 1991, the airport was owned by the Hungarian Air Force. A year later, the HuAF didn't want to use the airport and finally in 1992 the airport was given to the Hungarian Government which privatized the airport in 2002.
3. Nowadays, the airport is owned by Tököl Airport Kft. and is used for civil aviation only.
Good to know: Péter Besenyei, is the inventor of RedBull AirRace. The frst Air Race was held at Tököl Airport in 2002.
