This cache is part of the ‘Dam It’ Drive through series
Better not be 'swearing' here, so this one in the series is called 'For God's Sake'!
Nantgwyllt Church is a victorian church built by the Birmingham corporation to replace the small Nantgwyllt church which was swallowed up by the flooding of the Elan valley.
The huge area of hills and valleys taken over by Birmingham City Council for their water supply was very thinly populated, but many lives were changed by the project.
A church, a chapel, a schoolhouse, and 18 cottages and farmhouses were lost because of the plans to flood the Elan and Claerwen valleys.
The little community of Nantgwyllt was at the bottom of the flooded valley near the meeting of the Rivers Elan and Claerwen.
The site of the lost Nantgwyllt church is now at the bottom of Caban-coch reservoir. The famous poet Shelley visited this church in 1811, when he was staying nearby.
'For God's sake' is number three in the drive through series, although Dec-Elan can be collected on route.

Certain caches along this series will contain a 'bonus number' to note down for the final 'Dam it! End of the Elan Mountain Road! Bonus cache.
This is a joint bonus cache, so if you forget to write any numbers down or fail to find a cache in the series, there is another chance to collect the numbers in Diesel&Wyvern's Elan Mountain Road series.
