This Event is only 15 MINUTES long!! You MUST be present and drop a piece of paper with your name on it into the ammo can during this time period to claim the event. These pieces of paper will be bound to form the logbook.
Date: 9 June 2012 (Saturday)
Time: 10:00 to 10:15 AM
Place: Ballarat Botanic Gardens, Ballarat
What to bring: An Umbrella
Do not show up prior to 10:00 AM. Wander around nearby and "act normal" but not at the site. For the Flash Mob to have its full effect, we must appear to come from nowhere and disappear just as quickly.
At precisely 10:00 AM by your GPSr, rush to the posted coordinates with your umbrellas open! An ammo can will be placed at "ground zero", everybody is to collect a log sheet and if you can bring your own pen/stamp to make it easier. (Try not to poke each other’s eyes out with your umbrella!). Make sure you drop the log sheet back into the ammo can.
Between 10:00 - 10:12 Mingle and talk to other geocachers, if it’s raining your umbrella will come in handy. After all people are always whingeing about Ballarats weather. We will then draw two names from the ammo can; one person will be awarded the FTF honors for the event, the other a mystery prize! There will also be some other prizes for attendees thanks to Geostuff!!!
At 10:12 we'll have a group photo taken for posterity.
At 10:15 the event is over close your umbrella and we'll all immediately leave the area. The ammo can will be closed and taken away, if you didn’t get your log in you can’t log the event.
For this to work everyone needs to leave the area immediately. You can meet up later at another location if you wish. There is a Farmers Market across the road on Saturday for those people interested.
