No Aquilégio é mencionado o Poço de N.ª S.ª das Neves: “Há um poço com excelente água para beber, e de insigne eficácia para desfazer e excluir as pedras, e areias, segundo a experiência dos moradores daquela vila, que usão dela ordinariamente.”
Embora seja pouco provável tratar-se do mesmo poço, deverá corresponder ao mesmo lençol subterrâneo de água, embora o morro de N.ª S.ª das Neves se localize do outro lado da Ribeira de Oeiras
O topónimo “Dois Irmãos” vem de dois rochedos rectos e paralelos que se encontram, um pouco acima do local do poço e que dão também nome ao monte próximo.
A lenda conta que dois irmãos discordavam constantemente, sobre a propriedade herdada e sobre a divisão do trabalho. Como castigo ao morrerem transformaram-se em pedra.
