Geocache Description:

This is a field puzzle in the Smithville Cemetery in Scituate, historical #24. Coordinates taken with a Magellan GPSr. Hide is a small camouflaged Lock & Lock with room for small trackables; not snow friendly. Lots of people visit the cemetery so please rehide better than you found it. Open dawn to dusk-please don't go after dark. You won't need to enter Providence Water property to find the cache /complete the puzzle, but check out the beautiful reservoir views from the cemetery.

Posted coordinates will bring you to the right part of the cemetery for gathering your data. Once you arrive there, you will be able to stay in that section of the cemetery(bounded by paths)for the whole puzzle. You won't need to go west of the deep horizontal dip in the ground that is just east of the Harris stone, either. This way you aren't looking for a particular stone in the whole area of the cemetery. Another hint is that I haven't used any stones that are lying flat, nor any that are exceedingly difficult to read. Paper and a pen will help you, but I've gone easy on the math!

Bring your own pen to sign the log, although there is a pencil.
There is a bit of poison ivy near GZ, but it's low and you shouldn't need to contact it to get the cache. There seems to be a lot of signal bounce in the area of the cache, so use your Geosense. It's a Geo-obvious hide...

Pedometer for first to find!

Remember that this is the format to find the cache, you will need to put in your own decimals: N 41° ??.??? W 071° ??.???

N 41°...
-Number of horizontal rows of text on Sarah Owen's stone(wife of a Bishop)
-Last 2 digits of Sarah Owen's year of death
-Day of the month that Hiram Potter Jr. was born

W 071°...
-Last 2 digits of Laura Kinne's birth year
-Last 2 digits of Elsie Ann Aldrich's birth year
-Horizontal rows of text/numbers on Phebe Calista's side of her stone(including her name)

You'll see this listed as SmithFIELD cemetery including on Google maps, but it is indeed SmithVILLE. Also, if you put the final coordinates in Google satellite maps, be warned that the image isn't an accurate view of GZ. I took the background photo while placing the cache.
