Walt Whitman (1819-1892) was an American poet, essayist, and journalist, best known for his volume Leaves of Grass.

This series of caches is on Trail 4 of the Kearsarge-Ragged-Sunapee Greenway, the section between Deer Hill road in George’s Mills and Route 114 in Springfield. Parking at 114 is available at N 43° 28.629’/W072° 02.541’. Parking at Deer Hill Road is at N 43° 27.093”/W 072’ 05. 265’.
The trail is abutted by private property so please respect the “No Trespassing” signs. All caches are within 10 feet of the trail.
