Anniversary Series: To commemorate our 36th wedding anniversary we have placed a series of caches on the Bernardo Trail in Rancho Bernardo. The trailhead can be found in the north end of the Rancho Bernardo Park. Park your car by the tennis courts and the baseball field. The trailhead is by a eucalyptus tree and some bushes. It is not well marked but it is a clear path. The Bernardo Trail is a two mile loop.
The Beginning: We met over a shared beer at his cousin’s house. He was visiting from Los Angeles because he was interviewing for a job with General Dynamics. Our eyes met and the story begins. We talked for a bit, joked around and we found our commonalities. It wasn’t long before we realized we were sole mates and that we were each other’s future. He got the job and moved down to San Diego in September. From start to finish our courtship lasted eight months. The family joined us in Las Vegas for our wedding. It was a great weekend of family fun and partying. Unfortunately the company I was working for wouldn’t give me the time off for a honeymoon so we have had to make up for it by traveling through the years. Each time we say that this is the honeymoon but there is always somewhere else to visit. Now 36 years later we are still starry eyed and blissfully happy. We have started a new hobby—geocaching. We wanted to celebrate our anniversary nuptials with some hide and seeking fun. We hope you enjoy this series.
To find the first cache you will need to figure out two dates.
North:
