A nice little hike with convienient parking. It's close to the Crown Point Camping area in the event that you stay there and want to go caching.
While camping at the Crown Point Camping area (hence the cache name), I found that there were no caches anywhere in the area. I decided to fix that by adding two close by. I had a couple of ammo cans with me, but had no "goodies" to put in them. I stopped by the camp store to see what they might have for goodies. They were taken with the idea of Geocaching and gave me the contents of the cache.
The cache is a .50 caliber ammo can. The original contents include:
- Hand warmers
- Foot warmers
- Campground pens in red, black and blue
- Campground key tags in red, black and blue
And a special FTF...one of thier business cards with a note on the back giving the FTF a free night of tent camping!
The cache is on adjacent property owned and maintained by the Army Corps of Engineers and is open to the public. The cache is adjacent to the VAST snomobile trail and should be available in the winter, but depending on snowfall, but may require some digging.
