Dilek Peninsula National Park, known locally as Milli Park, is located 23km south of Kusadasi, in a town called Guzelcamli. The National Park covers an area of 28.000 Hectares is 21 km from Kusadasi and starts at Guzelcamli and lays on Dilek Peninsula. It has a width of 6km and is 20km in length. Whether you like hiking in the mountain trails or lying on a beach relaxing, the national park is a little piece of paradise. Due to its clean environment, breathtaking views and clean beaches, the national park is the perfect place to have a picnic. There are facilities on offer such as benches, picnic tables, toilet and shower facilities. If you don’t fancy a picnic there are also cafes available. There are many beaches to choose from, the Kalamaki beaches count of several bays the most important ones being – Icmeler, Kavakli and Karapinar. If you’re not one to lie on the beach with a good book, there is always the canyon walk. The “Canyon” a starting point of a hiking trip is located 5 km away from the main entrance gate, cars and motorbikes must pay at the entrance. Walker and bikes are free. Another option is to take a Dolmus. From Kusadasi every half an hour. Or rent a bike at Güzelcamli for a day trip, the road is smooth and not too hilly. A big information board at the “Canyon “ gives information of the different hiking trips .I prefer the trip Canyon--Karakol Gedigi--Karaoluk Tepe--Panionion . The 30-35 km trip keeps you around 10-12 hours walking.
By laying a cache every km or two on the end (in a few years)15 to 30 caches will be placed and a interesting caching and hiking tour is born.
