This cache will provide another find on the way to the top of Big Sugarloaf. It sits on the side of Big Sugarloaf Mountain under a canopy of hemlock trees. Nothing underneath except pine needles and an occasional blueberry bush. Pretty view across the valley to Bear Mountain.
Turn up Bear Mountain Road and where Panorama Rd. turns right go left down the dirt road. At the top of the hill there is a gated road with a place to park off to the right. Proceed on foot up the dirt road and then look for the yellow blazes on the left that mark the Ellwell Trail up Big Sugarloaf. The trail is well marked. It crosses a small stream where a blue trail goes off to Goose Pond. Continue up the steep "slalom" trail almost to the top.
The cache container is very large and can hold a lot of swag or TB's.
I hope that the wooly adelgid never makes it to NH. Those little critters would destroy this beautiful forest and leave the hillside bare. What a pretty, quiet and peaceful spot it is now.
Please continue on up to the top and find the cache there at the view.
