Geocache Description:

Nason Ridge to the South

This is a trek to the Dirtyface lookout site. The lookout was built in 1957 and burned to the ground in 1975. Now all that remains are a few remnants.

The 9 mile round trip journey is a fairly strenuous climb with roughly 3900 feet of elevation gain. Views from the site are spectacular with Lake Wenatchee and the Nason ridge to the South.

The trail follows dozens of switchbacks up through fairly open forest, due to a forest fire in 2005. This open forest allows for an early snow melt in the spring but be aware of high temperatures in the summer.

A Northwest Forest Pass is required at the trail head.
