Geocache Description:

This is a replacement of the original "A World Class Cache" which was archived due to it being a few feet too close to "Duck Race". (My apologies for the mistake.)

At the location of the former "Diesel Dan's" truck stop, Big Y purchased the property in the fall of 2010, started construction in January, 2011 and had it's grande opening on November 3rd, 2011. It is Big Y's 61st market in their chain. One of the stipulations of the new construction was to build a holding pond and "lazy river" to control the run off from the parking lot and roof. The pond and "river" act as a natural filtering system before the water enters the Housatonic river by traveling through a series of rock piles and dirt/sand. (You will see the trench but it rarely has water beyond the holding pond.) Another requirement was for Big Y to plant native species of trees and plants which you will also see in the area. These things can be seen on the south side of the parking lot where the original cache was placed. The new cache is located off the north corner of the property near a smaller drainage ditch in a small Lock & Lock. The gate defining the property line is unlocked which leads to the Housatonic River. It has a log book and a small pencil, but bringing a pen is always a good idea. There will be a few random things and my signature item I'll leave in any cache I hide which is a few "Dry Fly" fly fishing flies hand tied by myself. Also - First to find gets a Big Y 75th anniversary commemorative coin.
