Geocache Description:

"Organ Saint: By definition a person so enamoured of the harsh beauty of the Organs that, far from minding the length of the approaches and the hostility of the terrain, he actually lies down with the cholla and blesses the rattlesnakes."
-Dick Ingraham

This cache is part of a series dedicated to those Organ Saints. Each cache displays some quality which typifies an Organ Saint. By finding all caches of the series and recording the codes found in each one, you will be able to unlock the location of the final and join the ranks of the saintly.

In order to unlock some of the burlier Organ peaks the Organ Saint must prepare both physically and mentally. Pena Blanca affords a Saintly playground of boulders and short top-ropes on which to train. By roaming Pena Blanca and testing yourself on these boulder problems, you too will gain an iron grip and steel nerves, qualities that will no doubt serve you well in the high Organs.

THE CACHE
To find this cache you must exercise your brain and solve the puzzle below (the cache is NOT at the listed coordinates although some really cool boulders are). Assume N32 and W106. A correct solution with the coordinate checker will provide some additional help in locating the final. Of course the final involves some rock scrambling. No 5th class (aka technical) climbing is required to get to the cache, but calm nerves and a yogi's balance will be needed, unless you go the extra mile and bring some ropes and anchor material. A high clearance vehicle is preferred for reaching either of the parking areas listed below. Alternatively the Sierra Vista parking area works for pretty much any vehicle.

THE PUZZLE
Sherman the Vermin fumed. He had just been booted out of his favorite climbing area, Hueco Tanks, because of rules rules rules. His car screeched to a dusty halt in a remote bouldering location further north. Sure the rock here wasn't stellar, but it was full of freedom. Free from park rangers, free from regulations, and free from the peering eyes of hordes of park visitors. The dust had barely settled before he was off with his crash pad hiking up to the area he had dubbed "The Garden" for a warm-up. He started out slow with calm and smooth ascents of Monkey Arete and Spy v. Spy. Feeling a little friskier he jumped on the powerful moves of a problem he had named Romantic Spy. He missed the final lunge repeatedly though, which was not like him. Distraught he stood back to shake off, and decide a calm ascent of the easy route, Know Your Rights, would get his mind in a better state iof mind for the send. It worked and he sent Romantic Spy on his next try, sticking the tricky dyno right off, and even letting his feet cut out a little just for show.

Not that anyone was watching. He had the whole area to himself. A whole boulder field, dozens of rock walls and not a soul in sight. 'Those Hueco climbers don't know what they're missing' he thought, 'and that's how I like it.' The sun was really starting to bake now so Sherman retreated to some cave problems he had worked previously on a nearby rock formation known as "The Volcano".

After carefully laying his pads over an obtrusive rock, he hung out on the problem he had named, The Rave. It felt so good getting horizontal in this cave that he had to up the ante and go for the risky but acrobatic problem, Fear of Paralysis. He sent that one too and was really feeling stoked. Maybe today would be the day that he could finally finish his new project. He scrambled down to a lower cave and scoped out the problem. It had long reachy moves, and he'd never quite been able to link it up, but today he was feeling good. Clearing his mind of all thoughts, he sat down near the starting holds and reached up to grasp them. He felt the power through his fingers and let his body move to the natural rhythm of the rock. Before he knew it, he had topped out. 'Sweet' he thought, and made a mental note of the tough climb, naming it Quantum Phsyics. Not that anyone would be out here repeating his climb, but it felt good giving these climbs names. Made them feel like old friends. Speaking of which, he decided to visit another one of his favorite climbs in a nearby area under a dark roof. It was a short little problem he had named Bodacious B, and sent over a year ago. He was surprised to note fresh chalk on the holds. 'Someone's been out here' he mused. Looks like I'm not the only disenfranchised Hueco climber. Repeating the difficult climb was reassuring, but also tiring. Feeling thirsty after all the strenous climbing, he walked back up to the Rave Cave for some water. That's when he made the mistake of jumping on the problem known as Cheese Grater. It looked like so much fun but it tore off the skin off two of his fingers, leaving ugly flappers. 'Looks like I'm done climbing for the day' he thought to himself.
