Geocache Description:

A cache hidden near the ancient ruins of the castle of Quirra perched on a hill 296 meters above sea level

Una cache nascosta in prossimità dell'antico rudere del castello di Quirra arroccato su un monte a 296 metri sul livello del mare.

The path to get there is very easy, even for those unfamiliar with this area:
Once you reach the first reference point (01) follow the road to its parking spot (02). A sign indicates the direction to follow.
Come to the point (03) follow the stone path until you get near the castle. The walking path is about 700 meters long and involves about 20 minutes' walk away.

The cache is well hidden in a niche natural rock. We must look carefully. The stones that cover the cavity can be easily removed but
it is strongly recommended, after recording the log, to put them back in exactly the same position they were in order to avoid possible findings by outsiders to the game.

The container consists of a small plastic cylinder protected by a biodegradable bag. Inside there are logbook, instructions and some small items. The pen is not present.

Cultural touristic information
On May 4 of 2013 a video produced by the sardinian duo "Time Grabbers"has been presented at a conference dedicated to the history of the castle. The video called "Time Within walls" was entirely recorded around in the ruins of the castle between the autumn of 2012 and spring of 2013.

The video is also visible visiting the show "Alla corte dei Carroç" into the old town hall (Piazza Marconi, Villaputzu) during the opening hours of the info-point and for the whole duration of the summer 2013.

Per una descrizione accurata della storia del castello vi rimandiamo a questo link.

Il percorso per arrivarci è decisamente semplice anche per chi non conosce la zona:
Una volta raggiunto il primo reference point (01) seguire la stradina sino al punto di parcheggio (02). Un cartello indicherà la direzione da seguire.
Giunti al punto (03) seguire il sentiero in pietra sino ad arrivare nei pressi del castello. Il percorso a piedi è lungo circa 700 metri e comporta circa 20 minuti di cammino.

La cache è ben nascosta in una nicchia naturale rocciosa. Occorre cercare con attenzione. I sassi che ricoprono la cavità sono facilmente rimovibili ma
si raccomanda vivamente, dopo la registrazione del log, di ricollocarli esattamente nella stessa posizione in cui erano al fine di scongiurare possibili ritrovamenti da parte di estranei al gioco.

Il contenitore è costituito da un piccolo cilindro in plastica protetto da un sacchetto biodegradabile. All'interno sono presenti logbook, istruzioni ed alcuni piccoli oggetti. Non è presente la penna.

Curiosità turistico-culturale
Il 4 maggio del 2013 è stato presentato durante un convegno tenutosi a Villaputzu e dedicato alla storia del castello "Time within walls", un video realizzato dal duo sardo "Time Grabbers" girato interamente nell'area delle rovine tra l'autunno del 2012 e la primavera del 2013.
