Geocache Description:

This cache is located in the historic Merrimack landmark, Matthew Thortnon Cemetery. It is in between a small and regular sized cache.

Matthew Thornton was one of three New Hampshire signers of the Declaration of Independence. He donated this cemetery to the town of Merrimack, and the town erected this memorial to him. His homestead was what is now the Common Man restaurant across the street. He is buried in the cemetery. Our son, Little G has a series of caches in Arizona, and this is our continuation of those into New Hampshire. Our kids think this is a super cool area.

If you are lucky you might meet little G, since he lives nearby and likes to keep an eye on the caches!

As always, use stealth and there is no need to disturb any historic markers or gravestones.  You can park in the pullout in front of the monument or on the side street.  Enjoy!
