Just a small fraction of visitors to Columbia ever make it up this way-- but its worth the effort. This area is sensitive historical area, and the placement of this cache has been selected so that you do not need to disturb any historic structures or the ground in any way. (Dual purpose- in addition to highlighting this hidden area, it also blocks potentially damaging caches from being placed in the area).
You can drive up, but if you are already visiting the park, it isn't necessary, just walk and avoid the complications of the parking lot gate hours. As you pass through town, you'll pass many older wooden houses. Most of these are owned by the park and are part of the town history. Many of the plants you'll see (lilacs, fig and other fruit trees) were planted by early settlers in town.
I tried to make this a fairly simple, but clever, hide, to avoid causing any damage to the resources in the park or the cemetery. This cache does not require moving any rocks, or touching any grave stones or vegetation. It is on the other side of the road from the graves.
