Geocache Description:

Welcome to the area of East Dunbarton. As you can see around you, pretty much the only residents remaining are dead.

This part of town was the first area settled by the Rogers family in 1742. By 1748 Indians decimated their homes, but the family had taken refuge in Concord during the raid. They moved back in in 1749. Their old homestead is located Southwest from here down Robert Rogers Road. The oldest still standing house is located a little ways up Montalona Road from here. It was built in 1791.

The best way to get to the cache is through the cemetery as you visit some of our forefathers. The cache is past the wire fence of the cemetery out back. It is not in the cemetery. Because the wire fence is hard to see in dim light, please no night caching.
