Mondrões, é uma antiga vila, recebeu foral de D. Manuel I em 15 de Dezembro de 1519, onde passa a vila e sede de concelho, mas em 1586 já surge de novo como pertencente ao termo de Vila Real. Foi reitoria da representação do Convento dos Jerónimos em Belém. Teve a paróquia uma irmandade, a das Almas e quatro confrarias: a de Nossa Senhora do Rosário, a do Santo Nome de Jesus, a de S. Sebastião e a de S. Tiago.
Esta pequena aldeia e sede de freguesia, possui pouco mais de 1000 habitantes.
O Império Romano e a sua história, não são desconhecidos a ninguém. Durante 500 anos dominaram os territórios adjacentes ao Mar Mediterrâneo e foram deixando marcas da sua passagem até aos tempos de hoje, não querendo dizer que algumas das suas edificações tenham perdido utilidade.
O Caminho Romano de Mondrões, permite-nos hoje viajar no tempo ( a pé ou de bicicleta ) e tentar imaginar como seria feita a viagem através desta 'auto-estrada' românica.
Com excelentes perspectivas sobre a cidade e com a Natureza a envolver este trajecto, é hora de ir à procura da cache II do Caminho Romano De Mondrões.

Mondrões, is an ancient village, received a charter of King Manuel I on December 15, 1519, where it passes the village and the county seat, but in 1586 already appears again as belonging to the end of Vila Real.
