Before the Pirates Came Across The Ocean The original inhabitants that hunted these woods we led by Big Chief Two Feathers. The woods were not only their hunting grounds but also their home. When the pirates grounded their ships on Lake Michigan shores they moved inland and eventually displaced Big Chief Two Feathers and his people. They say some nights you can still hear Big Chief Two Feather's voice rustling through the trees along with the wind. If you do come across Big Chief Two Feathers - Please return him to his resting place so that others may hear him. To save some major bushwacking use the Trail head at N 44 22.066 W 089 06.736 and always remember to bring your own writing stick. You won't find this story in the library. Really!
