Geocache Description:

Join the fun of a GeoTour Kickoff 9:00 a.m.—noon, Sat., Oct. 6, at Cougar Mountain Anti-aircraft Artillery Trailhead. Get the cache list the minute they go live and your printed copy of the GeoTour Passports. Have refreshments and test your E-Q and win a prize.

(It's not live yet. It will go live just as we launch this. Anticipation builds!)

The natural beauty we enjoy in King County has gotten an assist from a program called Conservation Futures. Money from this program has preserved such iconic parks as Cougar Mountain Regional Wildland Park, a geocaching haven. We are celebrating the first use of Conservation Futures in 1982 with a 30th Anniversary GeoTour that will take you to 20 properties that have been protected from development with Conservation Futures money.

You’ll see autumn leaves, beautiful vistas and thriving wetlands. You’re also likely to see spawning salmon, song birds, hawks, bald eagles, deer and possibly elk.

The first 190 people who take the GeoTour and send in their Passport with stamps from each of the unique stamp inside each cache box earn a limited edition commemorative Geocoin.
