Mayan codices are books made from the inner bark of certain trees. Almost all were destroyed by the Spaniards, thus the loss of most of Mayan history. Excepting the Grolier codex, which may be a forgery, the number of surviving codices considered genuine = C

Popularized by Erich von Däniken's 1968 best seller Chariots of the Gods? the lid of this Mayan ruler's sarcophagus has been offered as evidence of an extraterrestrial influence on the ancient Maya as it supposedly looks like an astronaut. The ruler's name is: D=

For the West coordinates, all you have to do is convert April 5, 1664 to the Mayan Long Count calendar. Once you do, you should see some likely numbers. For the third (Tun) column, add a zero before the number. If in doubt, use 584283 for the date correlation. Related web page included.




Remember to write down the Maya number symbols found in the log book, or on the lid, that is needed to determine the coordinates of the final cache of this series. After conversion, ten are labeled N and are each a four-digit number. Ten are labeled W and are each a three-digit number. The final cache of this series, A New Era, provides the final numbers and instructions how to add to the prior twenty to determine its coordinates.
