Geocache Description:

Gebbies Pass Wind Farm

Do not go anywhere near the published coordinates. There is no public access to the base of the turbine.

A quick puzzle based on the Gebbies Pass Wind Farm.

A prototype wind turbine at Gebbies Pass was installed in 2003, and since then almost 100 of these units have been put into production, with plans on the drawing board for many more. Whatever you think of them, they are now quite common on the skylines around New Zealand.

The final location has good views of the turbine and also of Lyttleton harbour and Lake Ellesmere.

The cache is at co-ordinates:
S 43 41.(speed-blade weight)/(# of gear box stages)
E 172 38.(maximum power+frequency)/(# of blades)

For the engineers and scientists among you, the units are not important, just the numbers!

Watch out for cyclists. They can travel very fast and very quietly around these roads.

Enjoy!
