Sommer Set #1
Sommers Bay is on the western side of the Forestier Peninsula and is reached by turning off the Tasman Highway at Murdunna (and proceeding about six km in a westerly direction). Sommers Beach is at the head of the bay and is sandy, sheltered and gently shelving. This geocache is the first of a set of three hidden at Sommers Bay. Cache #1 and #2 each contain information that is needed to locate cache #3, the final of this short series.
The Sommer Set #1 geocache is hidden in the coastal reserve on a point to the south on the easterly side of Sommers Bay. There are two recognised pedestrian access points to the reserve. (The two access points are about 130 m apart.)
- Opposite the house at 637 Sommers Bay Road
- Between the houses at 654 and 660 Sommers Bay Road
A suggestion—enter by one and exit by another and explore the area including the public jetty. If you do it is easier to start at the second entry point in the list above.
