Samuel Morse, nascido em 1791 nos Estados Unidos, foi responsável pela invenção do telégrafo com fios, mas ficou famoso mesmo pela criação do código que leva seu nome. O código Morse, desenvolvido na década de 1830, se tornou o principal meio de transmissão de mensagens telegráficas e era amplamente usado até o século passado, quando meios como o telefone e – mais recentemente – o e-mail se tornaram mais ágeis.
A CACHE
A cache encontra-se numa capela da cidade do Funchal, edificada em 1712 e que pertenceu aos herdeiros dos morgados Sauvayres, nomeadamente a D. Luísa Mendonça, viúva de José de Seixas.

THE CACHE
