Diz a lenda... que o povo da Relva desejava ter a sua igreja e começaram a construção num lugar que decidiram, no meio da freguesia. Juntaram os materiais e fizeram os primeiros lances de parede.
Os mestres trabalharam todo o dia com vontade, mas em vão, porque tudo o que tinham feito naquele dia desapareceu e os materiais, no outro dia,
apareceram num sítio da freguesia a que hoje se chama Canto da Igreja.
No dia seguinte retomaram o serviço. Acarretaram a pedra e os outros materiais para o lugar marcado e recomeçaram a trabalhar na igreja.
Mas, na manhã seguinte, o mesmo se tinha dado a pedra tinha sido mudada, sem se saber como, para o tal canto. E assim se repetiu.
A terceira vez começaram a ver que Nossa Senhora também ali aparecia em forma de bola de neve e sempre de costas voltadas para a freguesia. O povo estava apoquentado e sem compreender.
Mas a partir de certa altura entendeu que Nossa Senhora queria a sua igreja ali e de costas voltada contra a freguesia, diferente do que era costume com a maioria das igrejas.
Compreenderam também que a Santa desejava que a igreja fosse dedicada a Nossa Senhora das Neves, como fazia crer a forma de bola de neve com que se mostrava ao povo.
Decidiram fazer a vontade a Nossa Senhora. Iniciou-se a igreja no lugar indicado por Ela.
A construção decorreu normalmente e a igreja foi levantada no lugar e posição indicada.
Hoje lá está a igreja, de costas para a freguesia, no canto da Igreja e dedicada a Nossa Senhora das Neves.
