This cache is a small lock and lock container and was initially stocked with plastic animals.
H. P. Lovecraft's (HPL) Cthulhu Mythos contains many instances where, in the remoter regions of the earth, large 'cyclopean' ruins of pre-human civilizations are found by intrepid explorers who subsequently go mad when they realize the implications of their discoveries. In fact, one of my favorite HPL stories is "At the Mountains of Madness" which involves a 1930's Antarctic expedition finding the million year old ruins of a vast city near the south pole.
I've placed this cache near just such cyclopean ruins. Is this site the the remains of an ancient city of the "Great Old Ones', or just an old bridge abutment? I'll leave that up to you and your imagination.
I've checked this site out and it appears to be shoggoth free. However, the terrain is such that it may not be the best area for young children. Parents, please use your best judgement.
