Geocache Description:

A quick park 'n' grab in the usual spot... Congrats to fkrol - FTF!

The phrase "to be frank" originated with the the Francs, the people who conquered the area the we now call France. The word franc referred to the free men who lived there after they conquered the land. So to "be frank (franc)" with someone, means that you will be free with them or speak freely.

It came from the late Latin word 'francus' meaning 'free', which gradually evolved through old French as 'franc' and Middle English to the word 'frank', meaning 'direct and unreserved in speech', as in the expression 'to be frank'.
